Virtual Reality Tutoring
Hi! I'm Ebony M. (SPEDbyMe), and I've spent my career helping students discover what they can do. I began as a general education teacher, teaching all subjects in grades 2–5, and those first four years showed me how powerful it is when instruction is flexible, inclusive, and joyful. That passion led me to earn a Master's Degree in Special Education—and for the past 22 years, I've taught students with a wide range of learning profiles in elementary, middle, and high school, as well as with adults.
Every student deserves a champion. I plan around strengths, build in visual and organizational supports, and use data to guide small, meaningful steps forward. Whether I'm co-teaching in a full-inclusion class, leading pull-out small groups, supporting a resource room, or teaching in a self-contained setting, I create routines that feel safe, predictable, and empowering.
"After 22 years, I'm still excited by the moment a student realizes, 'I can do this.' That's why I teach."
I work with students with various educational and support needs:
I collaborate closely with families and related service providers so each IEP is not just compliant—but truly actionable. I am a strong advocate for ensuring that educators follow all details of an IEP.
I tutor students individually and in small groups inside Horizon Worlds, focusing on early reading (phonics, decoding, fluency) and writing (sentence structure, paragraphs, organization), as well as foundational math (number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fact fluency, and problem solving, reasoning with visual models & manipulatives). Sessions are structured, data-informed, and designed to feel safe, motivating, and fun.
Clear communication and genuine partnership with families
Evidence-based instruction tailored to individual goals
Inclusive practices that help students access grade-level content
Consistent progress monitoring and transparent next steps
